If you want to live near the beautiful Monterey Bay with the opportunity to be the Medical Practice and ASC Administrator in a thriving single specialty private practice of 10 Gastroenterologists and 2 Nurse Practitioners, you should apply for this position. If you are experienced, energetic, and have a notable record of success, you may be the right person. The group is very successful and demands quality medical care and excellent customer service for its patients. The prominent professional building in Monterey houses the practice and the group-owned Pathology Laboratory. There is also the group's Medicare certified ambulatory surgery center/endoscopy center for outpatient procedures. There is a second office in Salinas, CA, about 10 miles away, with new growth and astounding potential such that additional Gastroenterologists shall be recruited.
The group uses Athena EHR for the practice and ProVation for the endoscopy center and the programs are interfaced. There are no paper charts! There are patient portals, and several ancillary services to compliment the GI practice.
There is a formidable skilled and trained staff with very little turnover. Employee morale is high and physicians and staff enjoy coming to work. Most of the patients are insured and there are no HMOs and no capitated contracts in the area. The physicians are kind and a pleasure to work with. They share equally in the overhead.
The current Administrator will retire when the right candidate is chosen for this position. While everything is in place and running well, there are always challenges to be met for expansion of the practice, recruitment of additional physicians, MIPS/MACRA requirements, the latest automation and solutions for all the issues and changes that accompany the challenges of medical practice management. This position reports directly to and works closely with the Physician-President of the Board of Directors.
The selected candidate will have a minimum of a relevant Bachelor’s Degree. Preference would be given to Master’s, CMPE or FACMPE. The company offers a very competitive salary, with medical, dental, and vision insurance, accrued vacation and sick leave, a Profit Sharing and 401k Plan. We invite someone who is excellent at internal and external healthcare financial analysis, personnel management, purchasing, researching new opportunities for the group, and is also a general "hand-on" person not timid of doing whatever it takes to continue the group’s success.
