| The Association of American Medical Colleges is seeking Director, Hospital Payment Policies. |
Serve as team lead for hospital regulatory issues related primarily to Medicare and Medicaid payment policies. AAMC liaison to The Medicare Payment Advisory Commission (MedPAC) teaching hospital commissioner.
Duties include identifying key current or future policy issues and working internally to develop AAMC positions; monitoring regulatory activity, reviewing and summarizing regulatory initiatives, preparing comments, and conducting constituent webinars. Work with other health care organizations, attend government hearings and meetings (e.g., MedPAC), and meet with governmental agencies as appropriate. Explain AAMC positions to the press, as needed.
Serve as main contact for member inquiries regarding Medicare Graduate Medical Education (GME) payment issues and policies.
Collaborate on regular basis with government relations colleagues. Duties include drafting legislation, updating staff on regulatory activities, collaborating with staff on policy strategy, accompanying staff to Congress as technical expert, reviewing draft policy documents and position papers.
Collaborate on a regular basis with members of Health Care Affairs (HCA) data team to identify analyses that are necessary to develop and support AAMC policy positions.
Speak at and attend AAMC meetings (e.g., Learn Serve Lead, Group on Resident Affairs (GRA) Professional Development Program; Council of Teaching Hospitals (COTH) Board) and external conferences and meetings (e.g., American Hospital Association (AHLA).
Other duties as assigned, including attending meetings, literature reviews, and undertaking special projects (e.g., writing primer for new teaching hospitals, updating GME-related publications as necessary).
