Penn State Health St. Joseph is seeking candidates for our Senior Director of Operations position. The Senior Director of Operations is responsible for exercising administrative responsibility, accountability and authority through the day-to-day management and supervision of site operations for the Penn State Health St. Joseph Medical Group. The Sr. Director of Operations participates as a member of the Leadership Team and provides input into decisions affecting the objectives of both the assigned hospital and in general. In conjunction with other members of the Leadership team, the Medical Staff, Department Managers and others, assures that the Hospital provides high quality, compliant and cost effective patient care in a values-based environment.
Penn State Health St. Joseph is a non-profit network consisting of St. Joseph Medical Center, St. Joseph Downtown Reading Campus, St. Joseph Medical Group and St. Joseph Provider Hospital Organization (PHO). Founded in 1873 by the Sisters of St. Francis, the network provides a full-range of outpatient and inpatient diagnostic, medical and surgical services. The 380,000 sq. ft., 212-bed state-of-the-art hospital and health campus opened in late 2006 on 40 acres in Bern Township. In 2015, St. Joseph Regional Health Network was the first member to transition into Penn State Health, a newly-created non-profit entity of Penn State University.
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Nursing, or related field, and a Master of Health Administration (MHA) and/or Master of Business Administration (MBA). A minimum of seven years of management-level experience, including three years of progressively responsible management experience in a position with responsibility for multiple service lines and broad hospital operations focus is required. Candidates should have demonstrated experience in quality improvement, marketing, healthcare administration, healthcare standards and regulations, medical care systems, strategic planning, budgeting, financial administration, continuum of care integration and patient care delivery systems.
