Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) invites nominations, inquiries, and applications for the position of Vice President, Women’s and Children’s Services. This critical leadership position provides strategic and operational leadership for Doernbecher Children’s Hospital and Women’s Services, and how OHSU provides high-quality healthcare, patient and family services. For the seventh consecutive year, Doernbecher Children’s Hospital was named among the best children’s hospitals in the United States according to U.S. News & World Report.
Based in Portland, Oregon, OHSU is the state’s only comprehensive public health and research university. OHSU educates and trains the health care professionals needed by Oregon communities and provides care to Oregonians with the most difficult health challenges. OHSU ranks 28th in the nation in NIH funding, and total award dollars including philanthropy exceed $389M. OHSU has distinct national strengths in multiple specialties, including cancer which draws patients from around the country and the world for innovative therapies and treatments.
The Vice President for Women’s and Children’s Services has P&L responsibility for business units that generate $185M in net patient revenue, oversight of 903 FTEs, and an expense budget of $134M. In addition, the Vice President partners with physician leadership, community leaders, service line directors, OHSU Healthcare leadership, and other stakeholders to identify strategic opportunities for success, translate strategies into business plans, and guide implementation to achieve goals and objectives. The individual also provides leadership for Women and Children’s services within the OHSU Partners system. The Vice President leads a high-performance team to ensure strong quality while pursuing cost-effective strategies to increase services and census for Women’s and Children’s services.
