We are seeking an experienced Billing Manager to oversees the billing operations for our oncology and specialty practices. This role is responsible for managing all aspects of the revenue cycle, including billing, collections, patient financial counseling, and accounts receivable management. The position focuses on implementing strategies to enhance cash flow, minimize bad debt, and ensure the accuracy of billing across multiple specialties.
This position does require experience with the Medent EHR system , and oncology-specific billing and coding experience is highly preferred.
Brief Description of Duties:
Manage billing operations for both oncology and specialty practices, ensuring accurate and timely billing, collections, and revenue cycle processes.
Develop and implement strategic revenue cycle management (RCM) plans to optimize cash flow, reduce bad debt, and ensure the financial health of the organization.
Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs), ensuring revenue cycle processes meet or exceed targets.
Standardize billing processes and workflows across multiple specialties to achieve operational consistency and efficiency.
Lead, mentor, and train the billing team, ensuring ongoing education on industry updates and RCM best practices.
Conduct performance evaluations and provide coaching to ensure the team meets performance goals.
Collaborate with finance, front office, prior authorization team, and other departments to ensure smooth integration and alignment of billing and revenue cycle activities.
Act as the primary point of contact for patient billing inquiries, offering financial counseling and assistance with payment plans as needed.
Work closely with insurance companies to resolve claims issues, manage denials, and ensure proper reimbursement for oncology and specialty services.
Stay updated with changes in healthcare regulations and billing practices to ensure compliance.
Participate in performance improvement and continuous quality improvement activities.
Represent the organization positively and professionally in all interactions
Assist with the development of policies and procedures related to billing operations.

Requirements:
Education: Associate or bachelor's degree preferred; additional education in healthcare administration or a related field is preferred.
Experience: Extensive experience in revenue cycle management, focusing on tracking KPIs and driving financial improvement.
Minimum three years management experience in a medical physician office facility
Three to Five years in medical practice billing, coding and collections
Advanced working knowledge of billing operations, including charges, coding, payment, insurance claims and appeals, scheduling, and switchboard
Current working knowledge of Fair Collection laws
Working knowledge of methods, procedures, regulations and guidelines in patient billing
Current knowledge of insurance payer coding and reimbursement guidelines
Working knowledge and experience in health information system management, including billing and medical record applications
Ability to identify, initiate, implement and manage business practices, policies and processes
Proficient organizational skills, attention to detail and accuracy
Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external parties
Ability to exercise initiative, problem-solving and decision making
Required: Medical billing certification, such as one of the following:
Certified Professional Biller (CPB)
Certified Medical Reimbursement Specialist (CMRS)
Certified Professional Coder (CPC)
Certified Coding Specialist (CCS)
Certified Revenue Cycle Professional (CRCP)
