Job Title: Medical Billing Specialist
Contract Duration: 12 Months
Pay rate: Upto $25/hr
Location: Livermore, CA
Work Type: 100% Onsite, 7:30 am - 4:00 pm/ PST
About the Role:
As a Medical Billing Specialist, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring accurate and timely billing and collections for our healthcare organization. You'll work closely with patients and insurance providers to resolve billing issues and maintain patient accounts.
Key Responsibilities:
Patient Billing: Process patient bills and answer questions regarding billing statements.
Insurance Claims: Process and follow up on insurance claims, including appeals and denials.
Account Reconciliation: Reconcile patient accounts to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies.
Payment Posting: Post payments from patients and insurance providers.
Collections: Follow up on outstanding balances and initiate collection efforts.
HIPAA Compliance: Adhere to HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality.
Data Entry: Accurately enter patient information and billing codes into the system.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Knowledge of medical billing and coding practices
Experience with medical insurance and claims processing
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
Attention to detail and organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration or related field
Certification in medical billing and coding (e.g., CPC, CPC-A)
Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems
Knowledge of revenue cycle management
