JOB SUMMARY
We have an exciting opportunity for an Instructional Aide II Nursing/Allied Health position located at our campus in Menifee, CA. Under the general direction of the Dean of Instruction and the direct lead of the assigned faculty, The Instructional Aide II performs discipline-specific technical tasks relating and involved with students' educational and support services processes.
This position serves District-Wide; applicants may be assigned to any district facility. Work hours and worksite locations are subject to change depending on department needs.
A six-month probationary period must be successfully completed before the selected candidate is considered a permanent employee of the district.

- Assure materials are available and setup for the Nursing skills lab activities use by students for upcoming lab activities
- Assist in/with:
- maintaining an inventory of all required supplies, equipment and materials
- maintaining the Nursing & Allied Health Department website
- the development and preparation of quarterly reports, status reports and presentations
- Set up the Nursing Labs according to the prepared scheduled activities for use by students
- Return tools/equipment to designated area and cleans up all equipment after each session
- Clean and maintain all equipment and furniture
- Issue equipment to students
- Use and enforce acceptable safety procedures in the Nursing Skills Laboratories
- Respond to general student questions and assist students in using the nursing equipment
- Operate equipment, tools, and machines in the nursing skills laboratories
- Monitor and report student progress on Nursing activities to the Instructor
- Sort and file documents related to nursing skills laboratories
- Monitor the nursing skills laboratories to ensure that only authorized personnel are working in the space during assigned work hours
- Prepare and clean up classrooms and laboratories
- Dispense, order, store, and dispose of material, supplies and waste within established guidelines
- Use computers and software programs specific to the nursing skills laboratories activities
- Collaborate with library staff to ensure check in/checkout procedures align
- Retrieve and summarize MS utilization data
- Participate with others in planning and preparation of Nursing and Allied Health Department special events

- 9 semester units in the discipline; OR
- one (1) year of directly related experience in the classification's typical activities; OR

- two (2) years of directly related experience in the classification's typical activities may be substituted up to twenty-four (24) semester units; OR
- Career education instructional programs/disciplines; AND
- three (3) years of directly related experience may be substituted for up to forty-eight (48) semester units
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
- If selected, employment commencement is contingent upon successful enrollment in the District's DMV Pull Program. Employees enrolled in the DMV Pull Program MUST continuously maintain a driving record that meets District requirements set forth in the current policy as it relates to allowable types of infractions and points.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Knowledge of:
- nursing supplies
- medical equipment set up and troubleshooting
- rules and regulations related to OSHA compliance of bio-hazardous waste material
- simulator technologies ranging from partial task trainers to high fidelity patient simulators, and virtual reality simulators
- Two (2) years of professional work experience in clinical patient care environment
- Familiarity with clinical equipment used in the training of Nursing and Allied Health students
