POSITION SUMMARY:

Serves as a key clinical IT resource for implementation, training, validation and support of clinical applications. Primary responsibilities include assisting with facilitation of the facility's core clinical systems, support of clinical applications to resolve incidents or fulfill requests received from the Service Desk, and participation in new module/application/upgrade testing and implementation for the facility. The Clinical Analyst works under the supervision of the IS Supervisor to perform their duties. This individual facilitates and manages maintenance of specific dictionaries/tables and provides input on policies and procedures, training, and best practices for use within the facility. This individual works with clinical system core team members to deliver hands-on training as needed, and to implement standardization, utilization and optimization plans for clinical applications. Duties include evening and weekend support on a rotational basis, or as required for upgrades and implementations.

Education:

Current (or previous) Licensed/certified healthcare professional with technical experience. Minimum of four years' experience in a healthcare facility working with inpatient/outpatient electronic health record software. Utilize technical experience to incorporate the foundations of understanding computer systems and PC desktops. Experience in understanding technical terms and how to implement technical processes.

License/Certifications:

RHIT, RHIA, EHR Certification, PMP, or other IT certifications

Experience:

Hardware and software technical support in a clinic or healthcare setting preferred.
Minimum of four years' experience with an Electronic Health Record required.
Minimum of four years' experience in healthcare setting is preferred.
Technical support or "super user" experience required.
Experience with commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within software systems, hardware and electronic office equipment required.
Solid foundation of IT Principles and practices including common technology risks and threats to healthcare and other corporate institutions.
Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment and ability to establish priority of support requests required

Keeps team informed of goals. Involves team members appropriately in decision making or resolving issues. Facilitates team member buy-in to new initiatives.
Able to participate in development of release plan. Able to train clinical staff and support transition to new system(s) and evaluate, correct and document defects.
Has understanding of Clinical measures and technologies that support these measures. Able to analyze reports and make recommendations for use of specific software forms and functions to achieve objectives. Reviews new Federal regulations as they pertain to healthcare and the software applications used to support such regulations.
