Job Description

Provide leadership to develop technology strategies that support the Human Resources organization business goals. This role will have impact and influence over more than one technology and/or business domain. Objectives: Build a collaborative partnership with technology and functional domain senior leadership. Develop and guide delivery of comprehensive technology solutions that address prioritized Human Resources business problems and innovation needs. Objectives are defined in collaboration with senior Human Resources leadership and results assess from a 2-3 year perspective.

In this role youll be responsible for:
  • Works across multiple business and technology to make significant contributions to development of a 2-3 year technology strategy for the Human Resources organization.

  • Makes significant contributions to identifying overall process and/or technology improvements

  • Makes key decisions based on enterprise and domain strategies. Significantly influences operating policies and procedures that affect business and/or technology domains.

  • Responsible for managing a team(s) of senior managers and directors within multiple business and/or technology domains.

  • Make decisions that have an effect on financial, employee and/or public relations posture of Abbvie.

  • Responsible for making significant contributions to the development of a resource management strategy and organizational structure of multiple business and/or technology domain.

  • Builds collaborative relationships and effectively interacts frequently with business and/or technology senior leadership and vice presidents. Interactions focus on top priority projects and influencing strategic decisions. Interacts well with diverse groups across business and technology functions and maintains strong working relationships with internal and external collaborators.

  • Consistently demonstrate Abbvie's Ways of Working and Leadership Attributes including an enterprise mindset and people leadership.

  • Ensure integrated communications solutions to ensure adoption of operating model standards, drives development of operating efficiencies, enhances continuous learning and change management within the BTS team

  • Effectively manages performance, provides timely feedback, appropriately rewards and recognizes valuable achievement, develops talent, and creates a succession pipeline.

  • Understand and execute AbbVie's vision, goals and strategies including the overall BTS And OES objectives


Experiences that make you a strong candidate for this role:

  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent education and 12 years of experience OR Masters degree and 11 years of experience.

  • Working knowledge of Human Resource systems including Workday and UKG Dimensions.

  • Results oriented, strategically proactive with ability to flex and operate in a matrixed environment across functions and geographies to secure opportunities and mitigate risk.

  • Strategic thinker with strong analytical skills including strong problem solving skills related to removal of obstacles, setting priorities, ability to constructively deal with conflicts and drive change and alignment.

  • Exceptional direct managerial, indirect influencing skills and experience in dealing with international locations and diverse global cultures at all levels of the organization internally and externally.

  • Demonstrated organizational, planning skills, and strong project management skills while managing large and complex programs and ability to effectively communicate with senior and executive management.

  • Ability to communicate problems in terms that are understandable to all levels of the organization, including C-Suite.

  • Ability to travel globally up to 5%, as required, and to utilize technology to stay connected across all major time zones as required.

  • Experience managing teams of at least 15 people with a resource mix of managers, employees, matrixed teams, virtual teams, contractors and managed service providers.
  • Knowledge of current SOX as well as global regulatory trends and guidelines.
  • Thought leader within multiple technology and/or business domains across Corporate Systems.
  • Experience managing a budget of at least $15 million.
  • Ability to travel globally up to 5%, as required, and to utilize technology to stay connected across all major time zones as required.
