Orthopaedic Associates, Inc. (OAI) located in Westlake, OH is seeking an experienced practice administrator to join an established team of orthopedic surgeons providing patient focused quality care to the communities we serve. We are looking to replace our retiring administrator to lead us into the future and assist in strategic planning, cost containment and practice growth. OAI has 10 physicians and a staff of over 50 with 2 offices. OAI provides all ancillary services including MRI. The practice has served the community for over 50 years.




The practice administrator provides leadership and direction of all operations through development and management of human, practice and financial resources. The practice administrator assists the Physician Shareholders in strategic planning, practice governance, business development activities, budget and revenue management and policy enforcement




1. Establishes and implements goals, objectives, policies, and systems for all operational areas of the clinic. Identifies and resolves any operational problems.


2. Monitors and analyzes financial information such that a cost-effective approach to clinic operations is ensured.


3. Develops and implements long term practice objectives as approved by the physician owners.


4. Works closely with operations manager in the selection, training, and supervision of all clinic staff.


5. Oversees HR including employee payroll, physician compensation, employee/physician benefit plans, FLMA approval, vacation /sick PTO approval. Works closely with operations manager and bookkeeper in these functions.


6. Ensures compliance with all regulations/regulatory bodies and standards, including but not limited to OSHA, HIPAA, OIG, Corporate Compliance etc.


7. Resolves administrative and operational problems including the maintenance of clinic property, computer systems, and installed software applications. Works closely with IT coordinator on all computer and software issues and purchases


8. Oversees revenue cycle performance, financial performance and uses analytical metrics to direct processes.


9.Oversees office maintenance with outside vendors for both offices.


10. Oversees financial health and financial distributions of two related business that hold the land and building.


11. Is responsible for overseeing the profit-sharing plan including making all contributions (employer discretionary, 401k), collecting information and arranging for non-discrimination testing and making sure minimum required distributions are met.


12. Demonstrates professionalism at all times.




Bachelor’s degree in health care administration or business administration; Master’s degree preferred. CMPE certification or obtained within 2 years.


Minimum of five years of experience in practice administration.


Excellent communication and interpersonal skills necessary for interacting with patients, physicians, supervisors and support staff


Effective leader, and team builder.


Broad understanding of financial aspects of practice management with analytical and computer skills associated with financial modeling and budgeting


Ability to think strategically, effect change, see and articulate both the larger picture and operational steps needed to achieve practice-related goals and objectives


Excellent organizational and time management skills with attention to detail


Proficient computer skills with knowledge of electronic medical records
