Job Summary:

The Clinic Operations Representative works the front desk, reception and patient access duties for Rehabilitative Services outpatient clinics. Schedules patients and creates accounts in Cerner scheduling application. Checks in patients, prepares patient charts, submits authorizations for therapy services, collects cash, and obtains electronic signatures on consent to treatment and financial agreements. Enters referrals, Medicare certifications and authorization information in Medilinks. Provides customer service to patients through all available methods including phone calls, emails, and in person. Able to prioritize task and manage time effectively in a fast-paced, high volume work environment.

Minimum Job Requirements:

Work Experience:

One year of experience in a customer service environment required, preferably in a rehabilitation clinic. Experience with healthcare coding, billing, and reimbursement preferred. Experience with electronic medical record (EMR) systems preferred.

License/Registration/Certification:

None.

Education and Training:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Skills:
  • High degree of knowledge of customer service and conflict resolution
  • Highly effective communication skills.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
  • Knowledge of rehabilitation disciplines, diagnoses and procedures preferred.
  • Knowledge of English grammar, punctuation and spelling.
  • Knowledge of ICD-10, CPT and HCPCS coding related to rehab procedures and billing preferred.
  • Knowledge of basic medical terminology preferred.
  • Basic computer skills: typing, data entry, Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint required.
  • Must have reliable transportation for traveling between Rehab clinics when necessary.
  • Personable and attentive, strong interpersonal skills.
