Job Description: Position Overview:
Draws blood from patients or donors in hospital, blood bank, or similar facility and prepares specimens for screening, analysis, or other medical purposes. Performs screening tests and reports results. Assembles equipment, such as tourniquet, needles, disposable containers for needles, blood collection devices, gauze, cotton, and alcohol on work tray, according to requirements for specified tests or procedures. Draws blood from patients and donors using appropriate approved procedures, guidelines and standards. Provides support and assistance with a variety of tasks within Clinical Pathology - Medical Oncology Laboratory, Outpatient Laboratory and Specimen Processing areas. Works under the direction of the Phlebotomy Supervisor as part of the Clinical Pathology department team in fulfilling department and medical center objectives
Required Qualifications:
1+ year Patient facing healthcare or laboratory experience. Proficiency with medical terminology.
Required Licensure:
California Phlebotomy Technician License
Basic Life Support CPR Card from the American Heart Association (MUST have active CPR certification, they will not wait for a candidate who must obtain one).
Location (If remote, list as so): Duarte Campus
Schedule: Total of (5) temporary staff shifts, each offer will be assigned to one shift. Please ensure you list which shift they are applying/available for on their resume.
a. 3rd shift Sunday-Thursday
b. 3rd shift Tuesday-Saturday
c. 2nd shift Monday-Friday
d. 1st shift Monday-Friday
e. 1st shift Monday-Friday
FTE Conversion/Extension possibility? Depends on the needs right now it s six months.
Interview Type (phone, Teams, in-person, etc.): Via Teams 30 minutes is sufficient after 10:00am and no later than 3:30pm.
