We are seeking a Controller to work at a medium sized hospital in Northern California.

Are you a seasoned healthcare finance professional seeking a challenging role? A 300-bed, Level II Trauma Hospital in Northern California is seeking an experienced Controller to join the hospital finance leadership team.

Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Controller will provide strategic leadership and guidance for financial operations. The hospital Controller will oversee general accounting, accounts payable, tax preparation, and financial reporting. The successful Controller will lead the Finance and Accounting Department, prioritizing and directing workflow to ensure efficiency and accuracy.

Controller Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead general accounting, accounts payable, tax preparation, and financial reporting
  • Oversee capital asset management and reporting
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state reporting requirements, including Medicare and Medi-Cal Cost Reports
  • Manage monthly and year-end financial close processes
  • Direct departmental activities for smooth and accurate audits
  • Analyze financial results and identify operational improvements
  • Communicate complex financial concepts to diverse audiences
