For more than 30 years Poplar Springs Hospital has been guided by its mission of helping those who need the full continuum of behavioral services. Our facility offers behavioral and psychological treatment for adults and adolescents through our acute programs, adolescent residential programs, as well as programs for active duty military. Poplar Springs Hospital is seeking an energetic, driven, professional to join our management team. The Lead Mental Health Tech creates a safe environment for patients, intervenes when necessary, empowers patients, and teaches new tools for coping. The Lead Mental Health Tech provides direct patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse. Primary responsibilities include the provision of a safe and therapeutic milieu, crisis intervention, individual/family education groups and activities of daily living relative to patient's health and safety. The Lead Mental Health Tech is responsible to train and coach new Mental Health Techs. The position is responsible for ensuring all intervention notes are complete prior to the end of the shift and assisting in the completion of make-up interventions as needed. The position is responsible for Mental Health Tech shift assignments/rotation with 1:1, employee breaks and assistance with any general issues during shift. This role will provide a shift report to Program Director (or designee) after each shift and ensure staff are following the unit's program schedule. Performs other duties as assigned.
