Wyoming Behavioral Institute, a UHS Facility, is seeking a dynamic and talentedHousekeeper, Hospital
Duties include cleaning,Â sanitizing, handling linenÂ andÂ other dutiesÂ (dusting, vacuuming, mopping, stocking supplies, cleaning windows, emptying trash inside and outside) in order to maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for Wyoming Behavioral Institute's hospital patients.Â
Perform routine cleaning tasks of patients' rooms, offices and public areas as assigned by supervisor.
Vacuum, dust, mop, clean carpets, sweep and take out trash, sanitize restrooms, patient rooms and common areas.
Ensure adequate linens are kept in the facility.
Clean areas with disinfectants.
Refill supplies (paper products, soap, etc.).
Keep cleaning supplies and equipment safely stored when not in use and away from patient access when in use.
Comply with established measures for infection control, OSHA regulations and Safety/Risk Management plans, policies and procedures.
Moving of furniture (beds, tables, dressers, chairs, desks, etc.)
Assist in assuring a safe and risk preventive environment.
Report any situations that may affect the health and well-being of patients or employees.
Use time constructively and in an organized manner to accomplish assigned responsibilities.
Assists in any emergencies that may arise.
Demonstrates commitment to service and contributes to a positive environment.
Protects confidentiality of patients and peers.
Treats patients, families, visitors and peers with respect.
Demonstrates understanding of patient rights and delivers care in accordance with policies
Duties require sitting, standing, walking, reaching and some lifting.Â Position involves both indoor and outdoor activities, on-site and off-site activities, works with others.Â Have the ability to handle hazardous/infectious waste on a rare basis.Â Have the ability to communicate verbally, see well enough to read written material and discern a variety of odors continuously.Â Must be able to lift up to fifty (50) pounds on a regular basis bend, stoop and perform repetitive tasks on a constant basis.Â Must be comfortable with patients and familiesÂ in an acute behavioral health setting.Â Must have a customer service orientation andÂ willing attitude.
Must be 21 years old or older and have a high-school diploma or equivalent.Â Must be able to pass a robust background check (including requiredÂ fingerprinting for Department of Family Services screen)Â in accordance with WBI hospital policy and regulatory compliance guidelines.Â In good mental health and physical condition and willing to work with psychiatric patients.Â Be able to work as part of housekeeping team and function in absence of Director of Dietary/Housekeeping.Â Must have 1 year of housekeeping experience, preferably in a Health Care setting.Â Should be familiar with infection control protocol.Â Must travel to 1 off-site location during middle of shift in order to perform work, must have own transportation (mileage is reimbursed) and clean driving record.Â
